PROTIQ Review of 2022
Another eventful year is coming to an end: the perfect chance to take a look back at 2022. We have briefly summarised the most exciting moments, news and topics from the past 12 months for you here.
The Marketplace has Grown
In 2022, we have once again gained innovative and high-quality additions to our plattform.
MetShape
MetShape has been part of the PROTIQ Marketplace with its LMM technology since January. Lithography-based metal manufacturing is a process that enables the production of high-precision, small metal components. Read more abput MetShape here.
rpm
rapid product manufacturing GmbH offers high-quality functional prototypes and small series made of plastic. With over 25 years of experience and customers from countless sectors (including industry, consumer goods, mobility and medicine), you can expect high quality and reliability. Find out more about rpm here.
Parteo
The 3D printing company Parteo has been on the PROTIQ Marketplace since August and complements our portfolio with a new silicone-based printing material. The start-up relies on inkjet technology and supports you from the idea stage to the finished component. You can find out more about Parteo here.
ProtoWerk4D
With ProtoWerk4D you now have the possibility to order multi-colour components on the PROTIQ Marketplace. Through the Multijet Fusion process, theoretically up to 16 million colours can be realised in one printing process - and that, with a relatively short production time. Read more about ProtoWerk4D hier.
CADdent
CADdent is our newest marketplace member but certainly not the least known. The Augsburg-based company is a specialist for high-precision small parts made of metal, plastic and ceramics and has been part of our PROTIQ Marketplace since November. Find out more about CADdent here.
Exceptional Zinc Printing from PROTIQ
PROTIQ received the honour for "Intelligent Manufacturing" at the International Zinc Die Casting Competition. The jury explained their decision as follows: "[The process developed by PROTIQ for the additive processing of Zamak 5] supports the zinc die casting industry in expanding business areas, especially in areas where the use of zinc die castings is questioned." The award ceremony took place during the European Zinc Die Casting Conference in Koblenz. Learn more about 3D printing with zinc here.

New Features on the Platform
Not only has our portfolio of materials and processes evolved this year, but so has our online platform. Now, you can assess the high quality of our marketplace providers also on the basis of customer ratings. This function makes the services on our Marketplace even more transparent.
In addition, the profiles of our merchants have been updated. Thanks to the clear layout, you can now see at a glance, which processes and materials the respective service provider offers, call up certificates or recognise specialist areas. Customer reviews or the provider's own news articles have also found their place here. Feel free to click through: to the merchant overview
PROTIQ on Tour
This year, PROTIQ was on the road at a number of trade fairs, congresses and conferences: OTWorld in Leipzig, embedded world in Nuremberg, AM Medical Days in Berlin and Formnext in Frankfurt. We spoke at Rapid.Tech and the Handelsblatt AI Summit, and were at the Zinc Die Casting Conference and the 27th Rapid Prototyping Symposium. By the way, you can also find all past and upcoming events here.

Teamwork at its Best
Of course, two joint projects that you could already admire on our exhibition stands should not go unmentioned this year.
3D printed cutting guides
The Aachen-based company Inzipio has developed software that can be used to create individual cutting guides for surgical planning. PROTIQ can additively manufacture the generated cutting guides within a very short time using the SLS process. Read more about this exciting use case from the medical sector here.
3D printed knives made from 440C
In cooperation with the Danish material manufacturer Nordic Metals and the young manufactory UG-Tools, the specialist for high-quality knives, PROTIQ has been able to additively produce entire knives from 440C steel for the first time. The knives are made in one production step, completely made out of the well-known knife steel - from the handle to the blade.

Naturally, there were many other projects, topics and events that we cannot possibly all list here. We would like to thank you very much for this exciting year and wish you a good start in 2023.
