PROTIQ is expanding its range of materials on the PROTIQ Marketplace with PA11 Black. This material is the first all-black material to be processed in PROTIQ's production. It offers a range of mechanical and aesthetic benefits for a wide range of applications.
What is special about PA11 Black?
PA11 Black is a bio-based material derived from castor oil. The material is characterised by high toughness and impact strength. Compared to PA12, it offers increased temperature resistance and good mechanical properties over a wide temperature range.
Unlike PA components that are dipped or painted black, PA11 Black offers a permanently durable black colouring that is distributed throughout the material. This means that even with wear, scratches or cuts, the colour is retained. This not only increases the aesthetic longevity of the product, but also avoids additional processing steps such as dipping or painting, which are often less robust and can flake or wear away over time. This makes PA11 Black an ideal choice for applications where appearance is as important as functionality.
