New: REHAU with PPS

The PROTIQ Marketplace continues to grow: We are pleased to welcome REHAU Industries as a new supplier on our platform. Bringing decades of expertise in plastics processing and additive manufacturing, REHAU further expands the available material portfolio with PPS for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), a high-performance polymer designed for demanding industrial applications.

With nearly 80 years of experience in plastics processing, REHAU develops and manufactures innovative solutions across the entire value chain. Its portfolio includes both additively manufactured plastic components and additively manufactured metal tooling for plastics processing technologies. Customers benefit from the combination of advanced manufacturing technologies, extensive materials expertise, and comprehensive production experience.

REHAU is bringing PPS produced through selective laser sintering to the PROTIQ Marketplace. This material is characterized by its high stiffness, excellent chemical resistance, and outstanding heat deflection properties. With a heat deflection temperature of up to 211°C (HDT B 0.45 MPa) and a melting temperature of 280°C (Tmax, DSC), PPS is well suited for demanding applications where high temperatures and reliable material performance are required. In addition, PPS exhibits low water absorption and provides excellent dimensional stability for manufactured parts. These properties make the material particularly suitable for technical components with high requirements regarding functionality, durability, and process reliability.

Another key advantage is its inherent flame-retardant behavior. The material complies with the requirements of EN 45545-2 for requirement sets R1HL3, R7HL3, and R17HL3 at wall thicknesses of 2 mm and 10 mm. This opens up attractive opportunities for applications in sectors such as mechanical engineering, industrial equipment, mobility, and railway transportation.
