Print preparation

Print preparation includes all the essential steps that are carried out before starting 3D printing to ensure a successful and high-quality result. First, the 3D object is designed using CAD software or downloaded from an online library. The model is then broken down into individual print layers using a slicing program. This process, known as "slicing", converts the model into G-code that the printer can read and sets important printing parameters such as speed, temperature and layer thickness.

It is also crucial to properly calibrate the print bed. Calibration ensures the correct distance between the nozzle and the print bed, which significantly influences the adhesion of the first layer and the precision of the print. Then there is the selection and preparation of the print material to be loaded into the printer. The printing temperature and speed must be matched to the corresponding material. Before printing starts, a check is made to ensure that all settings are correct and any necessary adjustments are made to optimize the print. As soon as the preparations have been completed, the printing process can begin.

Thorough print preparation minimizes errors and ensures the quality of the printed object.
