Additive production

Also known as additive manufacturing or generative production. The term covers various manufacturing processes in which complex 3D objects are produced layer by layer from a formless material. In contrast to subtractive processes such as milling or turning, the material is added rather than taken away. A characteristic of additive production is the automated manufacturing process, in which components are made directly from 3D CAD data.
